How should I go about this?
I am in Trap shooting in 4H, and I was looking at the medals and patches, etc, you can win. I came across this link ( http://www.nrahq.org/education/training/marksmanship/qualbook.pdf#page=26 page 26) and noticed I have met the requirements for the Expert rating, as well as an Expert rating in the Hunter's Marksmanship course. I have records of my shooting, and was curious how you go about getting a patch, etc.
Also, do I have to be an NRA member to get the Trap Rocker?
I have a number of witnesses who have seen me shooting and can verify my records.
To get the NRA awards you first need to join, then you shoot in NRA sanctioned events until you have a cumulative average of all your scores to qualify as an expert.
Because it is a cumulative average, it is a lot different to say "I can shoot at least as well as", vs "I can consistently shoot better than."
It is based on scores turned in from events, not what someone saw you do before.
