Telephones - Necessity of Life

Telephone is one of the most commonly used appliances in the house. It is one instrument that has reduced the distance between the geographically apart people and bringing them closer. Before the telephones came into being, communication used to take place through letters, telegrams, etc via the postal service that was quite slow and took long to reach out to people; however, it was the invention of the telephone that made communication instant and fast. Telephone was invented 125 years back by Graham Bells, however, not many know that Graham Bells had worked with a team of two more individuals who could not taste the credit of the success and lost the legal battle to it as well.

With a rapid advancement of the telecommunication technology, fixed line telephones today are gradually making way for cordless phones or the DECT phones, that is, the Digital Enhanced Cordless Telephones.

Gone are the days, when long distance calls required the help from the exchange or when they were always coupled with the disturbance. Today, making national or international calls is a cakewalk and can be connected with the few finger strokes, that don't need any help from anybody.Telephones had been an expensive item or a luxury need initially, however, today they have been transformed into a necessity.

Today, telephones are easily available in the market and are integrated with assorted features like the very popular being mobility feature, that is best assured with the Cordless phones and DECT phones, caller ID, speaker phone, headset, speed dial, emergency number dialing, etc.

Telephone today is an inevitable extension of one's lifestyle that is primarily used for staying connected with the near and dear ones who are geographically apart.
